Antarctica

For so many nights I stood in the freezing cold at the railing of a rusty Russian icebreaker and stared into the darkness. Slowly, the majestic icebergs passed by. It was like hallucinating on drugs in the old days. Unreal. And I realized that what was happening here would only happen once in my life. „Humility“ and „gratitude“ sound old-fashioned, but these are the words that best describe my state of mind.

So near and yet so far.
